Leadership at Central Presbyterian Church
Presbyterian polity is a method of church governance typified by the rule of Assemblies of presbyters, or elders. Each local church is governed by a body of elected elders usually called the Session.

Session: Each year, a new class is elected to the Session of Central Presbyterian Church, serving a three-year term. This provides for both continuity and fresh input. Elders at CPC are also responsible for serving Communion on a monthly basis. The pastor serves as the Moderator of the Session.

Deacons: While Elders are charged with the governing of the church, the Deacons are charged with the care and nurturing of the church. [You might wish to read about The Changing Role of the Diaconate at CPC] At Central Presbyterian Church, deacons serve a two-year term; our Parish Associate is the board's moderator.

Trustees are charged with management and oversight of the real estate, endowments, and other long-term investments of the church. At Central Presbyterian Church, trustees serve a three-year term.
